Five Reasons Why The Wii Will Disappoint

GameDaily has come up with five reasons why the Nintendo Wii will disappoint, you can find a link to the full article below, which is a very interesting read.

  • Lack of software support.
  • Inferior graphics (and yes, graphics really do matter).
  • Wii remote control scheme is clumsy in some situations.
  • GameCube’s lackluster sales translate into fewer loyal customers.
  • Wii price advantage won’t last.

    * Lack of software support.
    Elaborate please ….

    * Inferior graphics (and yes, graphics really do matter).
    While they do matter, they don’t matter as much as lots of people think they do. Wii has better graphics than PS2 or XBOX, but not nearly as good as PS3/360 ….

    * Wii remote control scheme is clumsy in some situations.
    Agreed.

    * GameCube’s lackluster sales translate into fewer loyal customers.
    Hmmm. I don’t know about that. Loyalty in the console world is very, very shaky at best. Look at PS vs Saturn wars earlier on. Everyone and their brother was excited about the Saturn which had better graphics than the PS. In the end the Saturn died to PS because of price, good enough graphics, and it had games that people thought looked fun.

    * Wii price advantage won’t last.
    It won’t last in such the same state it is. I believe it will always be cheaper, but I doubt by $3-400 like it is today.

    Steve, lack of software support, is referring to the amount of third party game publishers that will probably never even release a game for the Wii, because of the unusual control scheme etc.
