Zelda is goddamn good. I haven't been too into their other games, I own them and occasionally play them but this zelda is something different. It is fantastic. My girlfriend got hooked and she isn't even a gamer! Game Spot has no validity to me anyway so I don't understand why it's such a big deal about them giving it a low score. They are just trying to look like they know it all but they just don't know what they are talking about. Sorry guy's, I have been playing games for 17 years and I am in love with zelda and I didn't even like their other releases!

Wow, Gamespot may as well have given it a 50% based on the way everyone is carrying on about how awful their review is. Am I the only one that sees 88% as a damn fine score? I have not seen where anybody has called it a bad game. Overreacting over an 88% review seems kind of silly.

Personally I think 100% reviews are more ridiculous than the 88%. I find it hard to belive that any game can reach perfection. That there is absolutely no way it could have been improved. That at no point in the game you might think to yourself "This game could be even better if..."

So maybe the 88% was too low and maybe the 100% is too high but thanks for sites that average all the reviews we can get a better idea of where games actually rank.

Remember your Zelda fans reviews of the game are just as objective as Gamespots review. Last I heard there was no scientific method for reviewing games without any objectivity.

I can't even begin to explain how dam STUPID gamespot could be 8.8 haha what a pathetic effort. If you have been reading alot about Twilight Princess being a bad game boy you are mistaken. It is by far the best Ledgend Of Zelda game out with the new boomerang and the Wii's Nunchuck (very simular to the N64) is very useful.

Overall well done Nintendo

[...] Many people have been complaining about GameSpot’s low, 8.8, rating of Zelda: Twilight Princess, in fact you can see some of the comments from our visitors here, so much so that GameSpot have felt the need to retaliate with the following statement. It’s the same damn game we’ve all been playing for the last 15-odd years. Hey, guess what? You get to go into dungeons…and find items…and put together pieces of heart to make new heart containers. I haven’t gotten very far into it, but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Triforce is in the mix at some point. [...]

I think the lower scores shoule be ignored... It's pretty unanimous that its a contender for best game ever. I don't really find Gamespot a particularly good site anyway so take it's opinions with a pinch of salt. Has anyone seen the video review that Jeff Gerstmann posted? He really seems like he doesn't have a clue. I know I'm going to love this game

The above referenced from gamespot is rediculous, as is the score. I appreciate what nostalgia he claims is holding the game back. 10 hours into the game and I can honestly say this is one of the best Zelda games yet. Gamespot... fuck off and die...
Sincerily
Irrationally Angery Zelda Fan...

P.S. I was actually just kidding about the die part... It was really just a figure of speach. I merely hope you lose credability as reviewers, as you well should.

This is by far the best starting Zelda game ever! 6 gp hours in, and I'm already hooked - can't wait to get home from work so I can add another 6 hours... All hail the Twilight Princess!!

gamespot has a bunch of young, inexperienced, and immature gamers with some health disorders. "holds this game back.."? back from what? it's a zelda game. also, the quote about nostalgia only shows the lack of attention span that gamespot has (ADHD or something).
