GameSpot Respond to Zelda Review Criticism
Published by WiiMan on November 21st, 2006Many people have been complaining about GameSpot’s low, 8.8, rating of Zelda: Twilight Princess, in fact you can see some of the comments from our visitors here, so much so that GameSpot have felt the need to retaliate with the following statement.
It’s the same damn game we’ve all been playing for the last 15-odd years. Hey, guess what? You get to go into dungeons…and find items…and put together pieces of heart to make new heart containers. I haven’t gotten very far into it, but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Triforce is in the mix at some point.
There’s a difference between tradition and ossification, and Nintendo’s been content to let this series stay the same for too damn long. What’s more, in a lot of ways it’s actually getting to be pretty annoying.

It’s a low score but not all that bad, but that comment is a bit harsh on the game
Gamespot has to be the most egotistical game “review” site - and I use “review” in the most sarcastic way a word can be used.
Look at what they score EA games on PS3 - of ALL the game companies out there, EA is king of putting out the “same damn game”.
Gamespot reviewers are hacks - plain and simple. I can’t wait until the new GTA and Halo 3 come out - how will they score those games?
