UK Wii Launch A Success
Published by WiiMan on December 8th, 2006It seems that the Wii has been very well received during its UK and European launch, within only 12 hours of being released the Nintendo have managed to sell over 50,000 consoles. This works out at one console sold every second, this a very good figure for Nintendo.
But while there have been positives to the UK launch, there are also the negatives. A lot of people haven’t been able to get a Wii, due to demand exceeding supply. Even those with preorders weren’t always guaranteed a console because it seems that Nintendo hadn’t anticipated such a high level of demand for their new console. Had they shipped more Wiis then maybe it would be even more than one console sold every second.
