It seems that the Wii hasn’t just been a huge success in the UK, but in Nintendo’s homeland as well. Within two days of the console being released in the Land of the Rising Sun Nintendo had nearly sold all of their 400,000 consoles that were allocated for the region. According to Famitsu 372,000 consoles were sold in the 48 hours after the launch, this works out at more than two consoles sold every second, which is double the figure for the UK.
