I’ll have to admit, this one left me a little dumbfounded. The Canadian branch of Nintendo has launched a new campaign urging families to not just sit around… but “Get Up and Play!”.

Get Up and Play! = Lame

I see what they’re going for here… but seriously? Is there no better way of advertising the Wii as being “fun for the whole family”. I mean they go as far as to plan out weekly events… better watch out you might have to “take out the garbage” if you lose at Wii Bowling.

The items that they recommend that you have on hand are quite comical…

  • Headbands
  • Wristbands
  • A ceremonial trophy
  • Water bottles filled with ice-col water
  • Easy to eat healthy snacks like dried fruit and granola bars
  • Digital camera to capture all the winning moments

They also have some “nifty” badges pre-made for your pleasure. They suggest that you “Post a badge on your blog, Facebook page, or mySpace!”.

I know what your asking yourself… could this really be this lame? Well check it out for yourselves, and let me know what you think about it.
