I got a walmart wii gift card for christmas. I'm an adult so I was happy to get this. The only thing that upsets me is that my boyfriend paid for a wii - yet walmart does nothing to help those people get their wiis first. They got a shipment of wii's in on jan. 6th and I wasn't able to get one of the 20 because I wasn't quick enough. I do know some people who did get wii's that they turned around and sold on ebay for a profit. I think when walmart gets a shipment in they should have accepted people with wii gift cards first - then any leftovers should have went to next in line who didn't have a card. Their excuse is that although the giftcard is valued at the price of a wii - and it has a picture of a wii on it , you can technically use iton anything in the store. To me though, if a customer already paid for a wii - they should get first dibs. Ohh well, I guess that is walmart for ya though. They don't care how long you have to wait because they got their money. I'm happy with the card because I'm a step closer to having my wii than I was before - but dang it I want to play super mario galaxy. :)

If you can't find a wii before christmas, this is the second option. Of course its not as good as getting a real wii. But it's better than anything else, and its worth it to wait a month or two after christmas for this console.

"I guess just call me old fashioned… but if I’m dropping $250 on a gift - I want to be getting the physical item, not just a place holder."

He's right. Younger kids would think it was neat, though.

I can see where it would be a great alternative if you can't find a wii console. It would be smart for retailers to make sure they have plenty in stock after the holidays so you can actually get a wii with your gift card. I guess getting a card is better than no wii at all.
You can still get them online, you might pay a bit more due to demand but they are
available online.

I know I would be a little disappointed if I wanted a Wii and ended up getting this. Although, it is $250... so, I wouldn't be TOO upset. :)
