and no need to worry about the PS3 stealing too much of Nintendo’s money, i think the’ll be a failed system eventualy

Nintendo wasn’t able to meet the demand and now decided to sell Wii Gifts costing $250 which is too high for a gift card. With this Nintendo decided to control the situation but anyway the fact is that they couldn’t predict the the demand. I’m pretty sure this would be good example for Nintendo for the coming years.

I think this article is unfair to Nintendo. The demand is hard to keep up with all over the world, production has its limits and producing faster than they are would have less benefits. Right now major electronics stores get up to about 60 wiis a week, and this is the same all around the world. I was forced to wake at five in the morning to get in line for a wii shipment. When stores get their shipment of wiis they sell at a rate of about a wii a minute so really all they can produce is getting snapped up instantly. They are not really losing money; Most people are willing to wait a month or two for a wii, its a great console and definitely worth the wait. The wii sales are higher than triple the sales of the Ps3 and much higher than the Xbox 360 so Nintendo is getting pretty darned rich off of this and the few that don’t end up getting a wii doesn’t effect this very much at all.

I don’t think Nintendo would have near the problem keeping up if it weren’t for the greedy online sellers that grab all the Wiis before they even hit the shelf. They are the reason people can’t get them for their kids. It’s hard enough for many people to come up with $250 for a Wii (or the time you have to spend standing in line hoping to get one). These money hungry people are adding at least a couple hundred on the price of these systems just so they can get their cut on something popular. What an unfair thing to do to the children whose parents can’t afford to give $500-600 for a game system! Give people a break!!

I completely cannot believe that these are so hard to find. As you said, these have been out for over a year now, and it is still impossible to get one. I just bought one off of eBay, but I’m starting to worry that I may have been scammed
