Rumor: Duck Hunt for the Wii?
Published by Jeremy on January 14th, 2008This could easily be a fake… but I feel obligated to pass along the news that there might be a Duck Hunt game coming for the Wii.
That’s right, THE Duck Hunt. According to Product-Reviews.net the son of someone who works for Hudson Soft recently found a disc on his fathers desk… and proceeded to make a video of someone playing it. You can check out the video below.
I’m not sure if I believe this or not… but in any case please let me know what you think about it - Real or Fake?

Definetly fake. It looks like it was made in Flash, the cursor reacts as a mouse cursor not like a wii-mote. And look at his pointing!

I vote for fake, but hope it is not. My take is why would a game that seems to be “Top Secret” since no one really knows about it be on some guys desk for the world to get too. It also just looks and sounds suspicious. The graphics are old school looking and the sound is all to familiar.
But, I do hope that it is true because as lame as the game was I loved it and would play it for hours. It was the first real “Party Game” for me because I would have 10 people over blasting ducks for hours.
Let’s break this down.
If this is true we have a child who has gotten his father fired from Hudson.
If there is no kid behind the scenes playing this flash game with a mouse then what I observe is the PC wiiMote infared hack. He’s using the wiimote as a cursor to play a flash game via tv out on his graphics card.
Glad to see that everyone shares my initial feelings about the video. I was a skeptic form Jumpstreet.
I think Duck Hunt would be a blast to play on the Wii… but as most of you that’s played “Wii Play” know that there is already a “Duck Hunt esque” kind of game on it… but it needs improving… I mean where’s the dog?
Id have to say a fake. With all the other obvious things that have been pointed out… it just doesn’t look like a Wii game graphically… and knowing Nintendo, I’d think they would make a few innovative designs to the game rather then make it exactly like the original….
