Have you been wondering which characters were going to be fighting it out in Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Well let WiiSpin quench your possible character knowledge thirst. Below you’ll see a supposed screencap from the Japanese release of the game which shows all of the available characters. Personally, I don’t believe it.
If this screenshot is real, looks like about 44 characters will be playable in the game. Any characters you wish were on that list or better yet any you wish they had left off? Let me know what you think.
Note: Don’t get to excited… as this image is more than likely a fake.

It still upsets me greatly that yet again, Waluigi has been left out…..at least as far as I can tell….He’s in every other current mario game (strikers, Mariokart double dash, even mario dance mix….however, he’s been left out of super smash bros….
This is a fake screenshot. In the trailer on gametrailers, there is a question mark that floats by over this screen. I mean.. come on… Is that Batman??
It seems like it could be real I guess but if it is I actually find it disappointing. Baby bowser sucks, star wolf and krystal arent that popular in my opinion and there arent enough weird obscure ice climberey characters. Oh, and king k. rool sucks too.

Jeremy: Well, obviously you took the screenshot after the question mark. O_O;; I knew that. I meant to imply that the question mark over the screen was there for a reason - indicating the unsure/unconfirmed nature of the screenshot used in the video. This same cap is on multiple blogs, Kotaku being the most notable, and even they have admitted it’s probably a fake.
i think its fake for sure now. king k rools pic is the same as the one on wikipeida.org. i like to think they would have at least put him in a different pose.
I don’t know if this is fake or not, but WaLuigi is in it as an assist trophy, I believe. I know he’s not a full on character, but that’s something. Plus, he hasn’t actually been in an actual real mario game. DDR and all the sports games don’t count, cause they’re basically spinoffs, as well as Mario Party. If they make a game where you play as Luigi and then Waluigi is the main villain, then he’ll be more of an official character. As of right now, though, he’s not much more than a filler character to give equal status to Luigi as Mario’s bro, like making Daisy to be his girlfriend to be the counterpart to Peach.
Possibly still a fake, but it looks WAY more real. Also, better resolution, all the characters are feasible and look as they are supposed to.
Oh yeah, the english helps.

This may come a bit late but if you compare this screen shot to the one released on the official website this morning (1/30/08) it is pretty undeniable that this is a fake. The creators of this fake didn’t even bother to use the same avatars that the real games does for Kirby or Link nor do they bother to pay attention to where the characters are placed in the row and column in comparison to the real version. But then again there probably isn’t a person on this forum who hasn’t already come to the conclusion that this is a fake. It is interesting; though, that Lucario, Ness and Jigglypuff are considered confirmed characters due to someone’s observation of their avatar on a brawl demonstration video. I saw the pic, it’s a bit fuzzy but it is pretty clear that at least Lucario and Jigglypuff are going to brawl come March. In terms of characters I would really like to see Mega Man and Ryu placed into the fight. I think both could have an interesting effect on the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo hid another third-party character from fans, waiting to be revealed by gamers gone blogging.

This picture is obviously fake. The placement is off on some of the characters, according to the official Select Screen photos, and Zelda’s Picture is ALL WRONG. Her picture shows her AND Shiek side by side in her Avatar. So this is obviously fake.

I think that having Banjo and Kazooie on brawl would have been the coolest, but it’s probably not meant to be considering that Microsoft bought the rights to rare, speaking of which, another banjo kazooie sequil is coming out on Xbox

personally i think banjo & kazooie should be in the game. OK so they are not that popular but if you have pplayed their games their moves would be great and they would make an awsome duo like Ice clinbers. Oh, and baby Mario & Luigi would be an other awsome duo.

Okay, who the hell is going to believe in that shit of a screenshot? People, THAT IS A FAKE!
1) Some of the images aren’t even 3-D (and by reports and recent japanese videos I have seen, ALL IMAGES ARE FOR CHARACTERS ARE IN 3D!)
2) That Monster Trap king, or whatever his name is, IS NOT IN SSBB (as a matter of fact, that king is a trophy)
3) Midna, Krystal, and some of the characters in this screenshot have absoultly no chance in SSBB
4) Batman? BATMAN!? Ok, that made me laugh so hard my ribs burst. Just ebcause Sonic and Snake got into Brawl, doesn’t mean, and I mean, DOESN’T MEAN that BATMAN IS IN BRAWL! That is probably FAR out from the range of a crossover! And here’s a question; if Batman is (but isn’t really) in Brawl, then wouldn’t Superman or Wonderwoman be in Brawl too? Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
5) Luigi’s image is from a Mario Party image and his 3D animation compared to Mario’s flunks, it’s a full proof (and one of the proofs) that this screenshot is a FAKE.
6) It is proven that Zelda can change into Sheik and her alter ego is next to the image of Zelda
7) Now everyone should see this and I laugh at them in pity because they didn’t look at this; Link’s WW style is totally NOT 3D. Yes, Link’s WW is an secret character (whoops, I said a spoiler xD) but the image is 3D
I can go on and on and on but it seems that it has been said to be a fraud. If that is so then why haven’t you got rid of it? Hmm? Have you realized that people (and I mean stupid people) are gwetting confused and they say that THIS is actually the characters of SSBB? Dude, be smart and get this fucking thing off!

First of all youtube is a site where you can do whatever you want with a video and half of their videos are fake. Also a few of the characters are drawings nintendo would do a better job than that. I also don’t believe this one because I have seen over 30 fake screenshots with characters like Tom Nook [Animal Crossing] and Tingle [The Legend of Zelda]. I can confirm

i belive the guy in the middle of the second row would be dark samus from corruption, you can be zero suit samus after you use samus’ finish move in battle.

There are actually a total of 39 playable characters, counting the transformation characters (like the link from wind waker is on the game but referred to as “toon link”)
I’m not sure if Star Wolf is a transformation of Fox? Not counting the transformation characters there are 35, and it doesn’t look like jugglypuff is even in the U.S. release
