Wii Getting Rock Band?

Is the popular game “Rock Band” coming for the Nintendo Wii? Nothing is official yet… but Engadget has an interesting detail about the possible pairing of the two.
It seems as though they have begun selling “official” Rock Band microphones, you might ask yourself - why should I care? Well out of this comes a pretty interesting little rumor, read the quote from Engadget below for the full deal.
As some of you have pointed out, it appears that the microphone’s packaging says its for PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360, which would certainly be an interesting development, given that we still haven’t heard anything official about Rock Band for the Wii. More on that as we get it.
Could this be a little insight to the future of the game coming to the Wii?
Personally, I think the game will come to the Wii… but I don’t think this is any earlier indicator. I’m thinking that this microphone is just universal (can be used with any game that requires a microphone)… much like the game “Boogie“.

I just bought Guitar Hero 3 recently for the Wii, but after playing Rock Band with some friends, I must say that I would be the first person in line to buy the game if they released it for the Wii. Each game (Guitar Hero & Rock Band) have their own strong points, but from a sheer group fun factor standpoint, you can’t touch Rock Band.
Rock Band is the future of this genre and will usurp Guitar Hero as Activision takes all the fun out of it and milks it to death. That being said, it only makes sense that Rock Band comes out on Wii and as I said on my blog, it’ll probably be held off to late fall to tweak the controls and more importantly get all those Christmas buyers.
