Dirty Lenses Cause SSBB Problem

Shortly after the release of SSBB in Japan, rumors started popping up about some of the discs not playing properly. The problems ranged from choppy playback to consoles not even being able to read the game.

Nintendo Japan has chalked the issue up to sensitive discs and dirty lenses… checkout the quote below for further details.

Nintendo explained that the new dual layer DVD format of the game caused the discs to become more sensitive compared to other titles released on the console. The company has offered to clean the consoles free of charge to compensate the customers who have experienced problems loading the game.

Looks like it’s true, people were really letting their Wii’s gather dust. If you listen carefully, you can almost hear the rest of the world dusting their consoles off… as they don’t want this same issue.

A good way to cure this problem is to either-

-turn the wii so that is horizontal (disk drive on top).

-or to insert a multimedia lens cleaner into the wii. The disk will not run but that is ok because it just needs to clean the lense, and will do so automatically. (multimedia lense cleaners are disks that are available at most good computer appliance stores)

I hope this was helpful! :)
