Mario Kart Wii Also Has Disc Errors

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

Remember the whole SSBB dirty lens debacle? Well it seems the same kind of problem might happen to the Mario Kart Wii disc.

According to Nintendo Wii Fanboy

In any case, a handful of gamers in Japan are reporting problems, and there have been instances in which the software won’t even start up. We wouldn’t worry too much over the issue, though. Theoretically, if Brawl works with your Wii, Mario Kart should too (even though it’s not the same dual-layered disc issue). If you haven’t tested out Brawl on your Wii yet, though, you might want to cross your fingers come launch day.

Personally… I never had an issue with my copy of SSBB… did any of you?

My SSBB works just fine. Although the first time I stuck it in, it did do an update of SSBB right away. Not sure if it was just a random update or if it had to do with the problems.

Acually, all Wii games update when you get them. But no, my Brawl was fine.

This is an unverified rumor that has been debunked numerous times on other sites. My copy, and virtually everyone else’s, works fine. Buy this game if you’re into good multi player on the Wii.

My copy of SSBB works fine on my Wii, but my brothers have had problems with their copy at my parent’s house. It is similar to the the problem you used to have with the old NES where you would have to try all sorts of tricks to get some games to work. In their case, simply ejecting and replacing the disc fixes the issue most of the time. In others, they have to eject it and clean the disk. Still, they always get it to work. Oh, and they just got Mario Kart and it DOES have the exact same issue.
