Won’t You Be My Avatar…

I can’t remember being this happy that it was almost Friday for a long time. My work schedule has seriously taken it all out of me. I’m in like some weird daze or something. The fact that I stayed up all night reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown didn’t help. I don’t really know what to think about the book. It wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. I’m a major Brown fan, but this one was just lacking. Towards the end it became super predictable, which is a shame. Maybe I hoped for too much, who knows… One thing is for sure, Dan Brown can hook you in and glue you to the page. Good books can do that though, I remember first time I read Battle Royale, there was no way I’d put it down. I was right there with Shogo and Shuya. Don’t even get me started on Harry Potter, I think I flew through the final book in about 3 days. I digress, I was talking about Fridays, yeah, it’s tomorrow and that makes me happy because then it’s the weekend and I get to spend it all with Mrs. Mike, which is outstanding.

I also think Titanic was outstanding. James Cameron’s masterpiece deserved all the praise it got. It was the first time you realized little Luke Brower was going to be big. And who can forget Kate Winslet? James Cameron also brought us The Terminator. I remember seeing T2 when we were out of town for a swim meet, and getting so hyped about it that I got told by security to calm down my air-machine-gunning. (Side note: Yes, I used to swim. And yes, I was ridiculously fast.) Basically, James Cameron is a big bowl of win. I think his next movie, Avatar, is going to be his best yet. I think it’s going to rape all the other 3D/CGI movies that have come before it, and the ones that will emulate it. After the debacle that was Transformers 2 (how could he make Soundwave so weak!?!?), Avatar is the last hope for awesomeness at the cinema. You know what that means? Yup, there’s going to be a game for it. And do you know what that means? Yup, I’ve got the latest gameplay and a trailer for your viewing pleasure. So, try to pry yourself away from playing with your nifty new Windows 7, and check the videos below. Avatar will be on store shelves Nov. 24 and in theaters Dec. 18. Don’t worry, the game is not a redux of the movie, instead it’ll follow other characters in the Avatar universe. I need a Mike universe, or a The Spin universe…..don’t sleep, you know you want one too. Enjoy, and stay thirsty my friends.
