The Price Is Right…Lou Feriggno GIVEAWAY!!!
Published by Mike W on December 3rd, 2009You know, after looking back on yesterday’s post I feel kinda Scroogey. I need you guys to know that I’m really not. I love Christmas, and the holidays in general. It’s good food and good times (even if they stress the hell out of me) shared with good friends and good family. I mean, who doesn’t love the season of giving and getting? I know for sure I love getting, and I’ve got my sights set on a Kindle this year. I’m about 90% sure I won’t be getting one, but a man can hope, can’t he? There’s not really too much else I could ask for except some quality time with Mrs. Mike. Which should come after next week and X-mas week since I’m taking it off work. Can’t wait to not have to wake up at like 6am, even if it’s just a week. So, I want to make up my Grinchiness from yesterday…
Now, my title may have lead you to think that I’m giving away Lou Ferrigno, I wish! No, somehow The Spin hasn’t reached the status where I can actually give away the Hulk. But, I can give away The Price Is Right, at least the new Wii version of the game. I haven’t played the game at all yet, so I can’t say too much about it. I can however remind you all of how much of an awesome comfort The Price Is Right is on a rainy Tuesday morning when you’re home sick from school and/or work. I don’t think there’s an American alive who hasn’t felt that joy. Hell, I’ll take it one step further and say it’s actually un-American to have not. So, if you haven’t yet, call in sick for work tomorrow and watch the show! Although, you’ll have to deal with Drew Carey (he does still host it, right?) and not get the Epic that is Bob Barker. I digress, The Spin’s newest friend, Francesca Torre who represents PR with Edelman Digital, is going to set me up with a copy of the game to give away to you. So, it’s contest time!!! (Side note: For the full effect imagine confetti flying and like trumpets playing and re-read that last line. Yeah, it’s nice, right?) Here’s how you can win your very own copy of The Price Is Right: just post a comment on this thread telling me your best Christmas gift ever. The person whose gift makes me the most jealous, wins. That’s it, fairly simple I think. If you’re thinking to yourself, “why do I want to play The Price Is Right??”, the answer is simple: free stuff rocks. That and the fact that they made a ridiculously awesome promo for the game starring the Hulk himself, Mr. Lou Ferrigno. That trailer is below and I look forward to being jealous of gifts that I asked and hoped for and never got, so get to posting. Enjoy, and stay thirsty my friends.

About

The best gift I ever received (for Hannukah…I hope it still counts) was a trip to Vegas with the guys. The wife is pretty cool, but its a tall order for any man to convince his significant other to give him a guilt-free weekend drinking and gambling too much in Sin City. Just the sheer amount of available flesh alone (strip clubs or otherwise) is enough for most women to scoff at such a suggestion. But not my wife. Freedom, the ultimate gift.
And as a backup, I’m pretty sure she got me the New Super Mario Bros this year.
I’ll never forget the joy of the GI Joe Aircraft Carrier USS Flagg sitting in my parents closet… I’ve forgotten the year, but I digress on that and we’ll get into the good stuff.
I was a massive GI Joe goober (and still kinda am) and the mammoth playset was plastered all over every Hasbro “Coming Soon” guide there was… commericals played every day after school and I had to have one. I was a few years away from knowing the ‘truth’ about Santa and I knew the ‘rents were cash strapped so I figured no way was this going to be under my tree. I hit up everyone I knew, showing them pcitures of it’s awesomeness telling them how I wished Santa could bring me one… so the big day arrived and as I expected there wasn’t a 5 foot box anywhere to be seen. But my mom was a tricky one… she made me open the assorted packages in a certain order, tossing aside sweat pants and socks, some assorted Cobra Infantry figures and the odd Hiss Tank here and there I opened up an empty box that sent me on a scavanger hunt. Other sundry gifts amassed until the last one directed me toward my parents closet. And yes, oh yes, the red Ryder BB Gun, holy grail of my childhood was in there staring back at me - unwrapped because I didn’t think they made rolls that big back then. The delight, the sheer joy I had, bouncing up and down with my chubby self, dragging it out of the closet and spending the next several hours with my dad building it will be with me for eternity… not I only wish I didn’t sell the thing back when I was in college now because it would definitely still be clocking hours of play in my basement by my kids and myself.

Ok, so to preface this, I’m Jewish, so I’m hoping I don’t stretch the rules too much with THE BEST CHANUKAH GIFT EVER!!! So I’m 9, and am behind the times. My friends are all playing Nintendo, and I’m wasting away on an Atari 2600. So my parents go Nintendo nuts and I get 8 nights of Nintendo:
1st night I get the NES
2nd Night I get RBI Baseball
3rd Night I get Baseball Stars (quick aside, I was and still am a HUGE baseball fanatic)
4th Night I get Super Mario Bros 2
5th Night I get RC Pro Am
6th Night I get Double Dragon 2
7th Night I get Contra
and the 8th and Final night comes Super Mario Bros 3
needless to say I got really fat that year from playing all these ridiculously awesome games.
Ok, that is the best promo ever!!!!!
Gotta say, to this day my all time favorite present was a set of Smurf drums…. I rocked those things!
Damn you guys, I want ALL of those gifts. And Smurf drums?!?! Were they blue?
Why yes, they were mostly blue… with yellow plastic drumsticks.
We have wanted Wii Fit for a long time and finally got it yesterday. Wii fit plus is probably one of the best games I’ve ever played for the Wii. It is very sensative and all the games are quite fun.
